This is a beautiful contemporary system. Finished in gloss black with chrome trim, the monitor looks more like a high-end iPhone phone than a baby monitor. An easy to navigate on-screen display (OSD) lets you configure your system and access the features.

Set the screen to turn off on its own for "Audio-Only" mode. This feature is great for nights when you don't need the screen on but still want to use the system as an audio-only monitor. A push of the "quick view" button turns the screen back on instantly.
The VOX feature when enabled mutes the sound and turns off the screen. When a moderate level of sound is picked up by the camera the audio and video kicks back on. This allows you to sleep without having to listen to every snore your baby makes, but alerts you to crying or anything needing your attention.

ADigital Zoom feature lets you get up close, and there's also a built-in clock with date display. A programmable alarm feature is great for feedings or anything you require a reminder for.
The monitor can sit on any flat surface or the built-in belt clip allows for easy hands-free monitoring around the house. The camera base has built-in wall mounts so it's ready to go up on a wall, or for placement on any flat surface. There's also a visual audio meter on the monitor to show the audio level being picked up by the camera.
With a 2.5" LCD screen the Prism Digital Video Baby Monitor provides a great picture and has the largest size screen available on hand-held units. Built-in Night Vision allows monitoring even in total darkness. The camera employs built-in IR illuminators which shine light up to 8 ft that's invisible to human eyes. The camera automatically switches into and out of night vision mode using a light sensor to detect darkness.
Both camera and monitor are powered by the included AC adapters. Or for shorter periods the monitor can run from the built in rechargeable battery pack. The camera can operate from standard 4 x AA batteries.
