In dark conditions cameras employ tiny built-in infrared illuminators to provide invisible IR light. Due to the tiny size and small number of these illuminators, night vision range with most systems is limited to about 6-8 feet max. This is a complaint of many customers who often desire to place cameras at greater distances from their baby.
The solution is our Night Vision+ IR Illuminator from Voltek. This device is simply an IR flood light, packed full with 28 high-intensity IR illuminators. Able to shine invisible IR light up to 30 feet, this unit will increase the effective range of your system's night vision, allowing greater flexibility in camera placement.
The unit is very small and compact, don't let the images fool you. Measuring in at 1.9" high by 1.9" wide by 3" deep, it's about half the size of a standard coffee mug.
Night vision brightness also greatly increases as you can see in our comparison images below, providing increased clarity and contrast. A light sensor is built-in so the IR illuminators are turned on automatically in dark conditions and off again when light levels increase.
The IR illuminator is intended to be used with any video baby monitor system with a night vision feature. It is not connected to the system and does not interact with your video baby monitor, it works on its own providing IR light in dark conditions. As a result you can have as many IR illuminators as you want.
Power is provided by an AC adapter. The swivel joint allows you to easily aim the illuminator in any direction and the unit can be sat on a flat surface or permanently mounted anywhere. Its heavy duty water resistant construction even allows you to use the illuminator outdoors.
