Built-in servo motors in the camera rotate the lens vertically and horizontally at the push of a button on the remote control. The camera lens can be rotated 270 degrees horizontally (3/4 of a full circle). Vertically the camera can be aimed over a range of 120 degrees.
The system comes with two remote controls. One controls the pan and tilt feature of the cameras. The other remote adjusts settings on the monitor unit.
Use the four directional buttons on the remote like a joystick to move the camera up and down and side to side. Or hit the auto button and the camera rotates back and forth horizontally through its full range several times.
With traditional systems if you wanted to view something out of the camera's field of view you either had to physically re-aim the camera or add a second camera. Now one camera can be rotated to see almost an entire room, outperforming even three or more traditional cameras!
The display's wide screen 16:9 format is also commonly found on today's high definition TVs. This monitor is packed with advanced features! You can even switch the video image between 4:3 or 16:9 (wide screen) formats. A 90 degree image rotate allows the screen to be used vertically or horizontally.
The thin LCD screen is only 1" deep and can be removed from the included base for custom installations. The base is fully adjustable allowing you to aim the screen in almost any direction and lock it into place. An On Screen Display (OSD) menu allows you to graphically navigate and change settings. You can also use the handy wireless remote to access all the monitor settings from a distance.
Manually switch between cameras, or use the loop function to automatically rotate through them. Note, the scan mode does cycle through all channels regardless if cameras are present. The monitor has 4 channels while the cameras operate on 3 channels. A max of 3 cameras can be used at a time. Auto scan mode on the monitor cycles through all 4 channels.
With full RCA audio and video inputs this is more than just a baby monitor! Plug in a DVD player to watch a movie, or even a video game console. The monitor even has stereo sound. Do note there are no audio/video outputs on the monitor, just inputs.
Monitor power is provided by AC power, so it does need to be plugged in at all times. This along with its large screen make it ideal for situations where the monitor is used in one location.
The system's reception range is 300 ft with clear line of site, or approx 100 ft obstructed. The Pan-n-Tilt camera is intended for indoors use only and is powered by the supplied AC adapter. 8 built-in infrared illuminators on the camera provide Night Vision.
